When crafting this dessert, we imagined what a treat from Fiddleswerth’s world might look like: a glowing, glittering creation as magical as the moon itself. Moonbeam Mousse Cups are perfect for family baking nights, birthday parties, or even just a cozy evening at home.
How to Make Moonbeam Mousse Cups
For the Base:
10 Oreo cookies (crushed into crumbs)
2 tbsp melted butter
For the Mousse:
1 cup white chocolate chips
2 cups heavy whipping cream (divided)
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Decoration:
Edible glitter or shimmering sugar
Mini marshmallows or star-shaped candies
Optional: Moon-shaped cookies or small fondant figures
Instructions:
Prepare the Base:
Mix the crushed Oreos with melted butter until combined.
Press about 2 tablespoons of the mixture into the bottom of small dessert cups or jars. Chill in the refrigerator while preparing the mousse.
Make the Mousse:
Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Let cool slightly.
In a large mixing bowl, whip 1 ½ cups of the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
Gently fold the melted white chocolate into the whipped cream until fully combined.
Assemble the Cups:
Pipe or spoon the mousse into the prepared cups on top of the Oreo base. Smooth the tops.
